Christmas is almost here and we took some time with our Managing Director – Mr George Rowley to reflect on what’s been an incredible transition year for Rowley Spray Booths and touch upon what the future looks like for us at Rowley Spray Booths and the industry.
Vision and Future of the Company
What is your vision for Rowley Spray Booths over the next 5 to 10 years?
“My vision is for Rowley Spray Booths to become the market leader. I want us to be the number one spray booth company in the country and perhaps even in Europe. It’s important for us that we adhere to our core values, delivering quality products and exceptional service for our customers. No matter how much we grow, we will always remain true to our foundations and values that have brought us this far.”
How do you see Rowley Spray Booths differentiating itself in a competitive market?
“We set ourselves apart by truly caring about our customers. Our focus is on providing an exceptional experience, whether that’s responding to breakdowns quickly or ensuring every product we deliver performs exactly as promised. We’re also constantly investing in new equipment and technology to improve what we offer. It’s about keeping things simple, user-friendly, and efficient—products that just work. Even now I have customers call me from 15 years ago regarding a breakdown, back from the days when it was just me and a van! But I really believe that’s how we’ll stay ahead, by never letting our customers down and always going that extra mile.”
What are the key goals or milestones the company aims to achieve in the near future?
“We’re on the verge of a big move to larger premises, which will give us the space we need to expand operations and take on bigger projects. The goal is to purchase the site and make it Rowley Spray Booth’s official headquarters. This move represents our growth as a business and positions us to achieve even more in the future.”
Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is a growing focus for many companies. How is Rowley Spray Booths aligning with this trend?
“Sustainability is becoming more important than ever, and we’re determined to lead the way in our industry. We’ve developed electric and hybrid spray booths as part of our commitment to greener solutions. Being the first to get this technology right is critical to us, and that’s why, during the winter period, we are conducting extensive Research & Development to ensure that we get this absolutely perfect. We’re also pursuing International Organisation of Standardisation (ISO) accreditation to reflect the changes we’re making as a business to reduce our carbon footprint and future-proof our business.”
Could you share some specific steps Rowley Spray Booths is taking to reduce its carbon footprint?
“Our electric and hybrid booths are a key part of our strategy. These technologies are designed to reduce energy consumption while maintaining high performance, which helps our customers and the environment. In the new year, we will once again be expanding our team, whose sole focus will be this. We are committed to not only making our products greener but also improving what we do in-house as part of our pledge to a greener future.”
How does the company approach balancing performance with eco-friendly solutions?
“We’re committed to ensuring that our eco-friendly options don’t compromise performance. It’s about delivering the same reliability and quality that customers expect, even in challenging conditions like during the winter months, hence why we believe that a testing period during the winter will give us the best opportunity to get this right.”
Product and Quality Innovation
What processes are in place to ensure the high quality and safety of Rowley Spray Booths products?
“We’re in the process of obtaining ISO accreditation, which will improve the quality of our products and processes. This also helps us ensure better traceability and comfort for our customers. We already conduct thorough testing but we know, in order for us to achieve our goals, we need to ensure we stay ahead of the industry. In the New Year, we will be bringing on-board a new member of the team in a brand new role with the specific objective of becoming ISO accredited.”
How does Rowley Spray Booths approach innovation, particularly with new technologies like FAR (Far Infrared) and hybrid systems?
“Innovation is central to what we do. We test every new technology thoroughly and keep a close eye on market trends to ensure our products stay ahead. Understanding developments in paint technology is also vital to make sure our spray booths remain compatible with the latest industry advancements.”
How do you incorporate customer feedback into product design and improvement?
“We regularly take feedback from customers to understand their needs and challenges. But moving forward into the new year, we want to improve how we do this to ensure a regular flow of feedback from our customers. These changes will be implemented at the start of the year.”
Challenges and Industry Trends
What challenges do you foresee in the spray booth industry, and how are Rowley Spray Booths prepared to tackle them?
“One of the biggest challenges right now is the labour market. Finding skilled people is tough, and as we take on more work, we’ll need to expand our team. We’re focused on tackling this head-on by investing in recruitment, training and growing our workforce.”
How do you see the shift toward electric and hybrid systems affecting the industry and Rowley Spray Booths’s offerings?
“The shift toward electric and hybrid systems is a huge opportunity for us. These technologies are the future of the industry, and we’re investing heavily to make sure our products meet these demands. By staying ahead of the game we’re ensuring we can offer solutions that customers will need as the market evolves.”
How does Rowley Spray Booths plan to stay ahead of industry trends and regulations?
“It all comes back to growing the business and the team. By bringing in more skilled people and staying informed about changes in the industry, we’ll continue to adapt and lead.”
Commitment to Customers
What makes Rowley Spray Booths the preferred choice for body shops and workshops in the UK?
“It’s our commitment to service and aftercare. While some of our competitors struggle to retain customers, we pride ourselves on building strong relationships and responding quickly to any issues. Our after-service department is growing, and we’re dedicated to ensuring our customers always feel supported.”
How does Rowley Spray Booths maintain long-term relationships and trust with its clients?
“We’ve built good relationships with people we’ve known for years. It’s about being responsive and treating customers as partners, not just transactions. We love what we do and that makes a difference in any industry.”
Are there any new services or features that clients can look forward to in the future?
“Our service team is expanding, and we’re improving our internal systems, such as Joblogic, to better manage and nurture our customer base. Gareth Smith is managing the service department, and he’s doing an incredible job ensuring we’re ready to meet the needs of new and existing clients.”
Rowley Projects
How has Rowley Projects evolved since its launch, and what factors have contributed to its early success?
“Rowley Projects has been a fantastic addition to our business, and its success so far has exceeded even our own expectations. It’s been exciting to see how quickly we’ve been able to make an impact in the market, delivering comprehensive solutions for workshops and body shops. A big part of this has been about bringing the right people on board—having Jim Sullivan (Projects Manager) and Paul Darbyshire (Projects Design / Coordinator) join the team has been a real game-changer. Their experience and expertise, combined with a shared vision for where we want to go have allowed us to manage projects with confidence.
We are also fortunate to have a growing team that brings fresh perspectives and dedication to what we do. Looking ahead, there are already some exciting, larger-scale projects in the pipeline for next year. While I can’t say too much right now, these will really cement Rowley Projects as a go-to partner for innovative, efficient, full-turn key workshop solutions.”
